Frank Stilo, 78, Lifetime Yonkers Resident, Sergeant Detective

YONKERS, N.Y. - Frank Stilo, a lifetime Yonkers resident, died April 1. He was 78.

Stilo served in the Army during the Korean War. In 1964, he became a member of the Larchmont Police Department. During his tenure there, he attended Westchester Community College and as a result of his education he attained the rank of sergeant detective. He was active in the Youth Program and was very instrumental in starting the D.A.R.E. program. He was also a past president of the PBA, the Police Columbian Association as well as a member of the Watch Dogs.

Stilo is survived by his wife, Barbara (Ricciardi) Stilo; children, Gina (Robert) Borrelli, Carolann (Joe) Lacoparra, Francine (Nick) Plakas; six grandchildren; brother, Nicholas Stilo. He was predeceased by his sister, Sylvia Brittis.

Calling hours are Thursday, April 3 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday, April 4 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Sinatra Memorial Home, 601 Yonkers Ave. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:15 a.m. Saturday, April 5 at St. Eugene Church. Interment Ferncliff Cemetery.
