Parente was born to Frank and Rose Salvatore Parente. He was a circulation manager for 50 years at the Herald Statesman - Gannette before his retirement and served as director of the board for five years on The New York State Circulation Managers Association. He was a Korean War Marine veteran, and a member of the Sons of Italy Colangelo Lodge.
Parente is survived by his wife, Camille Corato Parente;daughter, Andrea Milioti; siblings, Ronald (Gaetana) Parente, Mercedes Guenther and Dolores Lavoti; two grandchildren; two adopted grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are Wednesday, Feb. 19 from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Flower Funeral Home Inc., 714 Yonkers Ave.. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 20 at St. Eugene's Church. Interment at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
