Eugene J. Regan, 81, Of Yonkers, Insulator For Asbestos Workers Local 91

YONKERS, N.Y. - Eugene J. Regan, a lifelong resident of Yonkers, died Sept. 22. He was 81.

Regan was born in 1932, in Yonkers, to Denis and Mary (Sweikert) Regan and graduated from Gorton High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955, attaining the rank of corporal. He worked as an insulator for Asbestos Workers Local 91. He belonged to the Yonkers City Post #1666 of the VFW.

Regan is survived by his sister, Margaret Chrapowitzky; friend, Jane Fay; nieces and nephews; and many grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, John F. Regan and Justin T. Regan; and sister, Mary Alice Regan.

Calling hours are Thursday, Sept. 25 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday, Sept. 26 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home in Yonkers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27 at St. Joseph's Church in Yonkers. Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Yonkers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either Phelps Hospice, Rosary Hill Home or St. Joseph's Church.
