Elizabeth K. Mahas Ostach, 92, Of Yonkers; Retired From Sacred Heart School

YONKERS, N.Y. -- Elizabeth K. Mahas Ostach, 92, a longtime Yonkers resident, died Wednesday, Jan. 21.

Born Oct. 27, 1922, in Hastings-On-Hudson, she was a daughter of the late Louis and Mary Prince Mahas.

She was a cafeteria worker in Sacred Heart School for 16 years until her retirement, and a longtime parishioner of Monastery Church of the Sacred Heart.

Survivors include one son, Bruce (Linda) Ostach of Yonkers; one daughter, Karen (Ronald) Glatter of Yonkers; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26, at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home, 168 Park Ave., Yonkers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, at Monastery Church of the Sacred Heart, 110 Shonnard Place, Yonkers.

Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.
