Elizabeth G. Murphy, 97, Of Bronxville, Formerly Of Yonkers

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- Elizabeth G. Murphy (Betty) died Oct. 20, at the age of 97. 

Born in the Bronx, she was the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Gansert. She married James C. Murphy Nov. 20, 1941 in St. Luke's Church in the Bronx. 

Her husband predeceased her in 2012. She also was predeceased by her sons, James (Jill) and Kevin, and her grandson Peter Esposito.

She is survived by five children; Bettyann, Brian (Senta), Rita, Kathleen (Raymond) Coleman and John (Catherine). She also is survived by nine grandchildren, Thomas Murphy (Margaret), Colleen (Brian) Dudek, Bridget (Andrew) Bollinger, Raymond (Veronica) Coleman, Elizabeth Coleman, Brienne (Michael) Kozloski and James (Rachel) Esposito, Jack Murphy and Caroline Murphy; and 11 great-grandchildren; Abbey Murphy, Michael Murphy, Elizabeth Dudek, Anna Dudek, Erin Bollinger, Maxton Coleman, Peter Kline, Madeline Kozloski, Bayleigh Kozloski, Cassidy Kozloski and Michael Kozloski. 

She and her husband raised their children in Crestwood, and in 1980 retired to Esmont Va.

Visiting will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Flynn Memorial Home, 1652 Central Park Ave., Yonkers. 

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Annunciation R. C. Church, 470 Westchester Ave., Crestwood. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 10 W. Stevens Ave., Hawthorne.
