Kocur was born April 2, 1928, in Yonkers, to Edward (Efty) and Teodosia (Wowchak) Geriak. She attended local schools and graduated from Commerce High School. She was a lifelong Yonkers resident, parishioner of St. Michael's Ukrainian Church belonging to their Golden Age Club.
Kocur is survived by her husband, Theodor; son, Edward (Kim) Kocur of Millstone, N.J.; daughters, Dorothea (Orest) Torous of Rochester, Daria (Joe) Gaschler of Yonkers; and five grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brothers, Nick Geriak, Albert Geriak, and Walter Geriak.
Calling hours are Friday, Oct. 11 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home. Parastas is Friday, Oct. 11 at 8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12 at St. Michael's Ukrainian Church with interment to follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
