YONKERS, N.Y. -- Dorothy Jane Kaufman of Yonkers and Atlanta passed away on July 30 at the age of 75.
Kaufman was born Nov. 7, 1939, to the late Seymour and Miriam Weiner.
She worked for 32 years in the New York public school system as a counselor and Spanish teacher. Kaufman regularly volunteered her time in New York-area museums and hospitals. An avid traveler and lover of food and entertainment, Kaufman had a passion for Broadway theater and films.
Kaufman is survived by her brother Larry (Laura) Weiner, nephew David (Nikki), niece Stephanie (Paul), grandnephew Oliver and grandniece Lola.
The family held a private ceremony in Arlington Memorial Cemetery in Sandy Springs, Ga. Donations in Dorothy Jane Kaufman’s honor can be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
