Cecelia Howell Ziegler, 101, Of Yonkers, School Aid, Yonkers Public Schools

YONKERS, N.Y. - Cecelia Howell Ziegler of Yonkers died Nov. 11. She was 101.

Ziegler was born Sept. 25, 1913, in Yonkers, to Ernest and Annie Howell. She worked as a cashier at Trunz's Meat Market. She was a school aid in the Yonkers Public Schools. She worked at Schools 12, 17, and 13 and was chosen as Yonkers Employee of the Month shortly before she retired at the age of 82.

She was a parishioner of St. John's Episcopal Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher and superintendent of the Lower School, was the leader of a Brownie and Girl Scout troop, ran the Guild of the Christ Child, and volunteered at the Farmer's Market and Penny Socials. She was also matron of Bryn Mawr Chapter of the Eastern Star and a 35 year member of the Yonkers Chapter of Business and Professional Woman.

Ziegler is survived by her children, Carol Craft, Barbara Ziegler, and Nancy Beaury (Lawrence); three grandchildren; and five great- grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Leslie Osborn Ziegler; siblings, Ernest, Ann, Lorraine and Albert; son-in-law, Fred; and granddaughter, Christine.

Calling hours are Thursday, Nov. 13 and Friday, Nov. 14 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at F. Ruggiero & Sons, Inc., 732 Yonkers Ave., Yonkers, NY 10704 (914)-375-1400. Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 15 at St. John's Episcopal Church, 1 Hudson St., Yonkers.
