MILAN, N.Y. -- Catherine C. Byrne, of Milan and formerly of Yonkers, died Aug. 18, 2016 at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck. She was 93.
Born Sept. 5, 1922, in New Brunswick, N.J., she was the daughter of the late James and Julia (Lonsky) Connelly.
For many years, she worked as the senior clerk within the audio-visual department at the Mid-Hudson Library in Poughkeepsie. She also worked as a nurse at Hudson River Psychiatric Center in Poughkeepsie and worked in adult home care.
She is survived by her children, William (Kathleen) Byrne of Red Hook, Dr. Brian (Carol) Byrne of Oakdale, La., James (Kristine) Byrne of Red Hook, Christopher (Maureen) Byrne of Red Hook, and, Mary (Chris) Batich of Gainesville, Fla.; son-in-law, Andrew Zweben of Kingston; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1 at Sacred Heart Church, 110 Shonnard Place, Yonkers. Interment will follow in at Saint Joseph's Cemetery in Yonkers.
