YONKERS, N.Y. -- Barbara J. Pistone, 83, of Yonkers, died Wednesday Aug. 5, 2015.
She was born Sept. 25, 1931, to Stephen and Ann (Madaras) Matte in Yonkers, where she was raised and graduated from Blessed Sacrament Academy.
Pistone worked as an administrative assistant for the Yonkers Board of Education. On Oct. 14, 1951, she married Augustine J. Pistone in Our Lady of the Rosary Church.
Her husband died in 2004.
She is survived by her three children, Darrell (Maria) Pistone, Valerie Ann (Edward) Viviano and Tara (Jason) Landau; three grandchildren, Randa, Sarah and Shane, two great-grandchildren, Lexi and Chloe and a brother, Steve Matte.
She was predeceased by a brother John (Jake) Matte.
Visiting hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday in the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home, 168 Park Ave, Yonkers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Monday, in Monastery Church of the Sacred Heart in Yonkers.
