Arduin J. Corvinelli, 88, Longtime Yonkers Resident

YONKERS, N.Y. -- Arduin J. Corvinelli, a longtime Yonkers resident, died Friday, June 26, at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx. He was 88.

An avid fan of jazz and golf, he was known as "Ed" to friends and family. Born  May 22, 1927, in Waterbury, Conn., to Joseph and Sabina Corvinelli, he was raised in Brooklyn and was educated at St. Charles Borromeo School and Brooklyn Tech.

Following wartime service in the Signal Corps of the U.S. Army, he trained as a mechanical engineer and worked as a chief estimator for Raisler Corp. and later Tishman Construction in New York City.

He was a dedicated parishioner of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Bronxville.

He was predeceased by his wife, Matilda, whom he married in 1953, and a granddaughter, Sophia.

He is survived by his children, Laura and Edward, and their spouses John and Lisa; and grandchildren, Samuel and Megan.

Calling hours are 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Fred H. McGrath & Son, Funeral Home in Bronxville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Joseph's Church in Bronxville on Wednesday at 9:45 a.m.
