YONKERS, N.Y. -- Anthony "Tony" Witkiewicz, of Yonkers, died Sunday, Sept. 13, at age 66.
Born on July 15, 1949, to Jozef and Mary (Pleszak) Witkiewicz in Poland, he came to America at age 15.
He attended local schools and graduated from Yonkers High School.
Witkiewicz worked as an electrician for Precision Valve in Yonkers for over 15 years and retired when it closed.
On April 4, 1970, he married Anna Alencewicz in St. Casimir's Church. She currently lives in Yonkers.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Karol (Kevin) Cummins and Sherry (Joseph) D'Urso; four grandchildren, Anthony, John, Bryan and Mark; a sister, Kathryn Bogdan; and three brothers, Edward, Joseph and John Witkiewicz.
Visiting hours will be at the Whalen and Ball Funeral Home on Thursday, Sept. 17, from 4-8 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Casimir's Church on Friday, Sept. 18, at 10 a.m.
Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery.
