Anthony S. Pinto, 72, Of Yonkers, Army Veteran, Retired Firefighter

YONKERS, N.Y. - Anthony S. Pinto of Yonkers died Sunday, Feb. 16. He was 72.

Pinto was born March 3, 1941, to Anthony and Millie (Conde) Pinto, in Tarrytown and graduated from Commerce High School. He worked as a firefighter for the City of Yonkers for over 35 years; retiring in 2001. He received the award "Fireman of the Year" in 1972. He also served in the Army from 1958 to 1962.

Pinto is survived by his wife, Carol Ann Monsier; children, Tony S. Pinto, Daniel (Kerri) Pinto, Stephen (Doina) Pinto and Cheryl (Brian) Townsend; five step-children, Carl Lodes, Harry (May-Lisa) Lodes, Nora (Wayne) Gutman, William (Katherine), Caroline Freire and Adele (Matthew) Hurtig; 22 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Lawrence Pierorazio; sister, Anita (Robert) Collarile; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are Friday, Feb. 21 from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Feb. 22 at 11 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Church. Committal service at Ferncliff Chapel.
