Amelia Rubeo, 91, Of Yonkers

YONKERS, N.Y. -- Amelia Rubeo (nee Liberati), 91, of Yonkers, died Sunday, Sept. 20. 

She was born June 1, 1924, to Achille and Carmella (Bova) Liberati in Yonkers, where she was raised and attended local schools. 

Rubeo was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church.

On Oct. 8, 1945, she married Victor Rubeo in Sacred Heart Church. He died in 1999. 

She is survived by her son Victor (Buddy) Valerie Rubeo of Dobbs Ferry; her three grandchildren, Cheryl (Richard) Hurlbert; Paul (Tara) Rubeo and Michael (Katen) Rubeo; her five great-grandchildren, Alexandria, Taylor, Andrew, Jenna and Nicholas; and her sister Carmella (Tootsie) Mercurio. 

She was predeceased by her four brothers, Benjamin, Daniel, Vincent and Dominick Liberati; and her four sisters Margaret Copolla, Katherine Bartolotti, Anna Lorico and Antoinette Servidio. 

Visiting hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home,  168 Park Ave., Yonkers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Sacred Heart Church, 110 Shonnard Place.

Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
