ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - Alfreda Richardson of Rocky Mount, formerly of Yonkers, N.Y., died Thursday, Sept. 18. She was 71.
Richardson was born Sept. 26, 1942, in Gifford, S.C., to Horney and Josephine (Devoe) Mitchell.
Richardson is survived by her children, Vonzetta Strong, Derrick Mitchell, Isaac Richardson, Jr. and Lashonda Richardson; four grandchildren; siblings, Carrie Mitchell, Helen Mitchell, Rose Robinson, Jessie Kaigler, Dolores Williams, Vickie Creech, Geraldine Ginn, Hattie Williams, Maude Johnson, Laura Brown, Louis Mitchell and John L. Mitchell; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; and husband, Isaac M. Richardson.
Calling hours are Friday, Sept. 26 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Sinatra Memorial Home, Inc., 601 Yonkers Ave., Yonkers. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27 at Bethlehem Apostolic Faith Church, 428 S. 8th Ave., Mt. Vernon. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery, Yonkers.
