Yonkers Students, Firefighters Sickened By Fumes Released From Hospital

YONKERS, N.Y. -- All 150 children who were hospitalized after being sickened by mysterious fumes at Yonkers Middle School on Wednesday have been released.

Yonkers Deputy Fire Chief Thomas Fitzpatrick reports that five firefighters who also fell ill after responding to the incident, were also hospitalized and released.

According to Fitzpatrick, doctors who treated the patients said their symptoms appeared to have signs and symptoms associated with pepper spray.

The investigation into what sickened those in the school on Wednesday is ongoing.
