The talks, “Spirituality When Religion Fails,” will share insights for both those who are and those who are not religious. The intent is to provide something meaningful for these and all modern people.

Noticing an absence of opportunities to hear a classical sacred repertory in Yonkers, Stephen Byrns, founder of the Untermeyer Gardens Conservancy, had the idea of bringing a professional vocal quartet to the church he had long admired in his capacity as an architect.

The historic church itself, which includes large parts of the original Colonial 1752 structure, is a beautiful setting for beautiful music.  The congregation is the oldest spiritual community in Yonkers, and in 1684 it began a long record of service to the community, including the foundation of Saint John’s Hospital and outreach programs to the homeless still in operation.

St. John's Church is located at 1 Hudson Street at the intersection of South Broadway. The church has parking and is handicapped accessible.
