Yonkers Plays Host To Kevin Bacon, TV Crews

YONKERS, N.Y. – If the parking garage in an upcoming episode of “The Following” looks familiar to Yonkers residents, it's for good reason.

Kevin Bacon joined the cast and crew of "The Following" in Yonkers on Thursday as they shot scenes for the show inside the Buena Vista Parking Garage.

Actor Kevin Bacon, star of the soon-to-air FOX television series, was in Yonkers on Thursday, shooting scenes for the show in downtown’s Buena Vista Parking Garage.

By early afternoon, production trucks and movie equipment lined the nearby streets and Yonkers police had closed off part of the area.  Members of the production crew said they would be filming inside the parking garage much of Thursday but planned to be out of Yonkers by the day's end.

Neighbors said they didn’t mind sharing the street in the meantime.

“It’s a parking hassle but it’s really no big deal,” said Steve Green, snacking on a bowl of chili he got from the production crew. “Besides, it’s kind of neat.”

Green’s wife, Rose, said Bacon was walking the streets behind the Buena Vista garage earlier in the day, grabbing a bite to eat while signing autographs or posing for pictures with fans.

Green said she missed the star but was patiently waiting outside her Hudson Street home, hoping for a second chance to score an autograph.

“I don’t want to bother him but I would like to meet him,” she said.

This isn’t the first time production crews for “The Following” have been in Westchester. In August, the crew shot film at three separate locations in Bronxville.

In the show, which premiers on Jan. 21, Bacon plays a former FBI agent who is asked to come back and help find a serial killer who has escaped from prison.
