Yonkers Native, Rapper DMX Files For Bankruptcy

YONKERS, N.Y. -- Rapper and Yonkers resident DMX filed for bankruptcy, according to a report in "Courthouse News Service."

The rapper, whose birth name is Earl Simmons, declared less than $50,000 in assets and $1 million to $10 million in debts. $1.3 million of his debt is reportedly owed to child support, according to the article.

DMX has sold more than 30 million hip-hop albums and has appeared in more than a dozen films, according to his Wikipedia page.

DMX was born in Mount Vernon and raised in Yonkers.
