The EmPower workshop called "Save Energy, Save Dollars" will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, at Nodine Hill Community Center. Mark Russo, who is the Cornell University housing and energy specialist, will present the workshop sponsored by Cornell and the New York State Energy Research and Development Agency.

"Mark Russo presents two different formats, the first format is one-hour regarding saving electrical and reducing utility bills, the second format is two-hours regarding heating and hot water to reduce fuel bills," representatives said in a release.

‘’I enjoy partnering with Bernice, especially when it involves seniors," Spano said. "EmPower Workshop is a perfect example of how government helps educate all people on more cost-effective ways to live.’’

Spreckman and Spano are set to host the workshop at several senior centers throughout the City of Yonkers.

‘‘Mark Russo helps inform and educate seniors with new technology and techniques to save money right in their homes," Spreckman said. "This helps seniors keep up with the times, save money and prepare for the future, especially these current fast pace technological advances.’’
