Spano said the City of Yonkers' partnership with Mueller Systems, a leading provider of technologically advanced water infrastructure, would help improve the level of service to residents. The City is scheduled to install roughly 30,000 Mueller Systems water meters by the end of 2015.
"This is about providing Yonkers taxpayers with the best available services and tools to more efficiently manage water usage," said Spano in a release. "Building new state-of-the-art water infrastructure will improve the reliability, clarity and timeliness of water bills and communication between the City and residents." The City is promising to offer customers tools to manage their water consumption by implementing Mi.Data, Mueller Systems' consumer portal. The consumer portal provides utility customers with access to information about water usage, enhancing service levels and communication between the City and its water consumers. The water meter improvement project is scheduled to begin in January. Keystone Utility Systems, the only contractor authorized for upgrading resident water meters, is set to contact customers to schedule service appointments.
