YONKERS, N.Y. -- The Putnam County Sheriff's Department arrested a Yonkers man when investigators found a large-scale marijuana growing operation in the house he was renting in Lake Peekskill, according to LoHud.com .
Authorities were tipped off by an anonymous caller to the county's drug hotline in May. When it was determined that a marijuana growing operation was likely in the house, police secured a warrant and seized about 100 pot plants and $1,200 in cash, according to LoHud.com.
The Yonkers renter was charged unlicensed growing of cannabis, a misdemeanor, but could be charged with more pending an ongoing investigation, LoHud.com reported.
