Falcone previously served as director of the Ossining and Peekskill libraries. He also has served as treasurer of the New York Library Association and the Westchester Library Association.

“I am delighted and honored to have been selected for this position,” Falcone said in a press release.“ Yonkers Public Library is a great institution whose best years are still to come.”

“I’m looking forward to working with our staff and our community to bring new and responsive library services to this great city.”

Falcone earned a master’s degree in library sciences from the Pratt Institute, as well as a master’s degree in public administration from CUNY-Baruch.

“Ed brings a rare mix of operational excellence, deep ties to the community and a proven record of leadership both in Yonkers and at the county and state level,” Nancy Maron, president of the library’s Board of Trustees, said in a press release.

“Under his direction, we know the Yonkers Public Library will continue to be a leader that others emulate and a local institution our patrons cherish.”
