YONKERS, N.Y. – The Yonkers Historical Society presented the 2014 Patricia Mangold Scholarship Award to students Kyle Creaven and Twinkle Jacob on June 8 at the Sherwood House.
Both students, who expressed a strong background and interest in Yonkers history, were selected from a field of applicants from all Yonkers and area high schools. Creaven gradated from Fordham Preparatory School in the Bronx and Jacob graduated from Saunders Trades and Technical High School in Yonkers..
The society also presented American history awards to the following high school juniors from Yonkers:
Rosemary Acosta from Gorton High School; Thomas Adari from Saunders; Rakib Ahmed from Gorton High School; Ayesha Asghar from Yonkers Middle-High School; Graceann Bhaget from Riverside High School; Miguel Marcano from Lincoln High School; Jamely Marte from Early College High School; Katherine Morales from Saunders; Christian Nolasco from Riverside High School; Ketav Patel from Yonkers Middle-High School; Leslie Ramos from Palisade Preparatory School; Jonathan Rodriguez from Palisade Preparatory School; Jason Santos from Early College High School; and Jennifer Yang from Lincoln High School.
