YONKERS, N.Y. -- Yonkers' Gina Callender recently received Con Edison's "Living Our Values" award.

Callender received the award, which Con Edison considers its highest honor, for being an employee who exemplifies "the values of service, teamwork and excellence, and who demonstrate an overall concern for the quality of life in their communities," according to a press release.

Callender is a section manager in the company’s Bronx Gas Construction unit. She’s responsible for about 15 union employees and 10 contractor crews that complete gas leak repairs, install gas services and gas mains and perform other gas construction duties, according to the release.

“Gina is one of our most energetic managers,” said Katherine L. Boden, the company’s Gas Operations vice president. “She builds a strong sense of team in her group and actively drives organizational improvement through her work on various committees, both inside our department and in cross functional forums. She is an avid world traveler, eagerly experiencing new cultures and bringing the best of them home to share with others.”
