Yonkers Gang Leader Sentenced To Life For Murder, Other Charges

YONKERS, N.Y. -- Steven Knowles, 27, a member of the Elm Street Wolves Gang, was sentenced to life in prison plus 35 consecutive years for a litany of charges involving murder, narcotics conspiracy and firearms, according to Preet Bahara, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York.

The "Wolves," as the gang is commonly referred to, is a violent street gang involved in drug trafficking and multiple acts of violence around Yonkers, the U.S. attorney said. Knowles was linked to over 20 shootings of rival gang members.
