YONKERS, N.Y. -- A Yonkers Police officer was able to prevent a distraught woman from jumping off of a four story apartment building on Wednesday, according to LoHud.com .
Officer Daniel Drago was one of the first responding officers and spoke to the woman as members of the Emergency Services Unit closed in around the woman to prevent disaster, LoHud.com reported.
The woman came close to jumping, at one point draping one leg over the ledge, but Drago was able to convince her to back away, LoHud.com said.
In all, the ordeal lasted about 20 minutes, according to LoHud.com
