Mayor Mike Spano recently announced that the city officially closed the sale of the Yonkers City Jail building located in the downtown area. The new owners are Daniel Wolf and Maya Lin, creators and collectors of art. The two are set to transform former Yonkers City Jail along the waterfront into studio, gallery, exhibition and loft space, officials said.

"Less than a month after we stood outside of the old jail building to announce plans for this transformative project, I am excited to announce the completion of the sale today," Spano said. "This is another example of how city government is working to quickly move projects forward that support our economy and continue the growth of Yonkers."
