Yonkers Church Spends $1M For Repairs After Fire At Neighboring Building

YONKERS, N.Y. – A Hudson Street religious community with a congregation dating back more than 300 years is working to restore its church after it was damaged by an Oct. 23 fire at a neighboring property, according to lohud.com.

St. John’s Episcopal Church is planning to spend almost $1 million for the repair work on the building, parts of which date to 1754 and other parts to 1872, according to lohud.com.

St. John’s Episcopal is at 1 Hudson St., near 5 S. Broadway, a structure holds several businesses that caught fire in October, according to lohud.com.

The church is accepting donations from those willing to help, according to lohud.com
