Yonkers Cancels Program, Services Because Of Snow

YONKERS, N.Y. -- Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano has announced a list of program and service cancellations because of the expected inclement weather that will make its way into Westchester on Friday afternoon.

List of Program and Service Cancellations

  • Yonkers Public Schools (YPS) will have a half day of instruction, Friday. Central Office will remain open
  • Schools that begin at 7:35 a.m. will dismiss at 11 a.m.
  • Schools that begin at 8:35 a.m. will dismiss at noon
  • No Pre-K (morning and afternoon)
  • All after school activities are canceled, including the All-City Concert

Programs and services:

  • Several Parks Department programs and facilities have been closed to the general public today, including:
  • All Senior Programs & Senior Centers
  • Afternoon and Evening Recreation Programs at Parks Department Community Centers & all Yonkers Public Schools
  • Aquatics at Mark Twain & Yonkers Avenue Pool
  • Project Friendship/Young Adult Club
  • Indoor Permit Holders at Yonkers Public Schools
  • Pre-K (Little Learners)
