Yonkers' Afya Foundation Seeks Help To Aid Those In Need

YONKERS, N.Y. -- Helping those in need across the world is nothing new for members of the Afya Foundation in Yonkers.

The Afya Foundation sends supplies worldwide during emergencies, such as the massive earthquake in the Philippines.

Now they are asking for help to sort and pack critically needed surplus medical supplies, hospital equipment, and humanitarian provisions for health crises worldwide from 10 a.m. to noon on Friday, April 8, at Afya, 140 Saw Mill River Road.

Afya collects and delivers surplus medical, hospital equipment and humanitarian provisions for health crises across the world. With the assistance of volunteers, the organization has been able to send millions of pounds of live-saving medical supplies, as well as needed supplies for newborn babies. 

The group has worked in 56 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean.
