Woman Jumps From Highway Overpass Into Grassy Sprain Brook In Yonkers

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- A distraught Westchester woman jumped from a highway overpass around 9 a.m. Sunday, according to police.

The 74-year-old Yonkers resident, who had emotional issues, jumped off the overpass near Palmer Road into the water of Grassy Sprain Brook, said Yonkers PD Sgt. Dean Politopoulos.

The woman, who received non-life threatening injuries, was rescued and taken to a local hospital for treatment, police said.
