But we should get ready for six more weeks of winter.

According to Punxsutawney Phil of Groundhog Day fame, at least.

The furry rodent emerged from its burrow and saw its shadow early Monday morning in Punxsutawney, Pa., meaning  six more weeks of winter.

According to American folklore and movie pop culture, if it is cloudy, and he fails to see his shadow, then spring will come early.

The nation's largest Groundhog Day celebration, made famous in the Bill Murray movie of the same name, is held in Punxsutawney, although a few other towns, including Manchester, Conn., hold similar groundhog prediction rituals.

Relying on a groundhog to predict an early or late spring has become an American tradition, but do you actually believe it? Cast your vote now.
