A watch and ring were recovered in the human skeletal remains that were discovered rolled up in a carpet in Westchester earlier this month, Yonkers police said on Thursday.

At approximately 4:30 p.m. on June 5, police were dispatched to 165 Bruce Ave. in Yonkers, where there were reports of the remains. Preliminary reports found that the remains were possibly discarded at the location where they were discovered.

The police investigation is ongoing. The identity of the deceased party has not yet been released by the Westchester County Medical Examiner's Office.

On Thursday, Yonkers Police Sgt. Dean Politopoulos offered an update into the investigation, asking for the public’s assistance in helping to further their case. Members of the Major Case and Crime Scene Unit are in charge of the investigation.

Anyone with information concerning the discovery of the skeletonize remains can confidentially contact Major Case Detective Michael Farina at the Yonkers Police Department by calling (914) 377-7724. Tips can also be sent by texting the keyword YPD with the tip to 847411.
