Suspect in Triple Slaying Caught In Yonkers

YONKERS, N.Y. – One of two men wanted in connection with a triple homicide in New Jersey was arrested in Yonkers Saturday, according to multiple media reports.

Lavelle T. Davis, 33, of Galloway, N.J., was captured early Saturday, lohud.com reported.

The day before, authorities had arrested Jimmy P. Mays, 37, formerly of Egg Harbor Township, N.J., in Columbia, Md.

Involved in Mays’s arrest were detectives from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, the FBI, Maryland State Police and Maplewood police, according to www.nj.com. Davis was captured by detectives from the Essex County Prosecutor's Office, the FBI, and Yonkers police, according to patch.com.

Davis and Mays were wanted in the Jan. 29 slayings of 45-year-old Maplewood resident Michael Davis; Newark resident Lance Fraser, 44; and Paterson resident Roshana Kelson, 30, according to www.nj.com.

The victims’ bodies were found at Davis’s home on Van Nest Court, the www.nj.com report said.

They were both charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder, felony murder, weapons possession and robbery, the www.nj.com story said.

According to a report by lohud.com, police have not released a possible motive for the killings.

Lavelle Davis is not related to Michael Davis, lohud.com reported.
