As the foundation’s communications coordinator, a newly created role, Young is responsible for external and web-based communications, media relations and community outreach.

Young, who graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English from the State University of New York at Binghamton, started her career by gaining experience in writing.

After college, she worked as an educational grant evaluator and then switched her focus entirely to communications and the pediatric healthcare industry.

Before joining the institutional advancement team at the St. Elizabeth Seton Children’s Foundation, Young worked as a marketing and communications associate at Blythedale Children’s Hospital in Valhalla.

"We are thrilled to have Sarra join our staff because she brings communications expertise that was lacking in our advancement group,” said Brian Harrington, senior vice president of institutional advancement.

“This new position is essential as our continuum of care continues to expand. Sarra’s role as communications coordinator will focus on spreading the message of the St. Elizabeth Seton Children’s Foundation and letting everyone know about the amazing work we do for over 5,000 medically complex children and their families each year,” he said.

“Sarra’s great wealth of knowledge and incredible energy will be an asset to the foundation. We knew from the second we met her that she was the perfect fit for this new position.”

Young grew up in Brewster and now lives in Danbury, Conn. She can be reached at SYoung@setonchildrensfoundation.org or at 914-226-3004 for all communications and media-related inquiries.
