A registered "sexually violent" offender convicted of raping a 5-year-old has reported a move in Westchester County.

The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert this week to Westchester residents regarding the residency of 49-year-old Robert Harper, who has moved from New Rochelle to a residence on South Broadway in Yonkers.

The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Harper as a Level 3 threat, which means he is a “high-risk repeat offender and possible threat to public safety.” He has also been designated as a sexually violent sex offender.

According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Harper had deviate sexual intercourse with a 5-year-old girl in August 1999 and he was convicted of first-degree rape in May the following year and sentenced to a term of between one day and five years in state prison. He is now under the jurisdiction of the Mount Vernon City Police Department.

Further info on Harper from the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services can be accessed after entering the code in the CAPTCHA box found by clicking here.
