Sex Offender Accused Of Raping 13-Year-Old Reports Move In Yonkers

A registered sex offender convicted of raping a13-year-old girl has reported an address change in Westchester County.

The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert on Tuesday to Westchester residents regarding the residency of 39-year-old James Taylor, who has moved to an apartment on North Broadway in Yonkers.

The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Taylor a Level 3 threat, which means he is a “high-risk repeat offender and possible threat to public safety.” 

According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Taylor had sexual intercourse with his 13-year-old victim in 2004 and was arrested by the Yonkers City Police Department SOR Unit. He was convicted on a charge of second-degree rape for having intercourse with a person less than 15-years-old in July of that year and sentenced to between two and four years in state prison. He remains under the jurisdiction of law enforcement officials in Yonkers.
