YONKERS, N.Y. -- The developer rebuilding the Cottage Place Gardens public housing complex in Yonkers will get $1.4 million in tax breaks, according to a report on lohud.com.
The Yonkers Industrial Development Agency approved the financial incentives for the $36.7 million project that will create 70 units of public housing at 8 Cottage Place Gardens and at 209 Warburton Ave., the site of the deteriorated Mitchell-Lama townhouses, lohud.com said.
The Community Builders have already completed the first phase at 33 and 43 Ashburton Ave. and the second phase at 188 Warburton Ave., lohud.com said.
The 1940s-era Cottage Place Gardens consisted of 256 units of public housing that had become severely deteriorated. These units are being replaced with modern family units, lohud.com said.
