Police Investigate 'Suspicious Device' In Yonkers

YONKERS, N.Y. - Police responded to reports of a “suspicious device” in front of an Agawam North home on Sunday night that ultimately turned out to be benign.

At approximately 11 p.m. on Sunday night, the Yonkers Police Department Emergency Service and K9 Units were dispatched to 21 Agawam North to investigate the reported "device," which was in a bag on the front lawn, Sgt. Dean Politopoulos said on Monday morning.

Further investigation revealed that the “suspicious device” was just four small CO2 cartridges that had been left out, he added. Police took custody of all the objects and swiftly cleared the scene without incident.
