Off-Duty Cop Shot By Yonkers Police

YONKERS, N.Y. -- Kenneth, Campion, a 47-year-old off-duty Pelham Manor police officer was shot by Yonkers police after they observed him in Redmond Park in possession of a handgun Thursday night, according to News 12 Westchester.

Police said Campion appeared suspicious and he was suicidal, the report said. 

After refusing to drop his weapon, a Yonkers police officer shot him in the arm, and he was taken to a local trauma center, the report said. 

Campion is in stable condition and is expected to survive, the report said.
