Metro-North Alcohol Ban On Trains During SantaCon Is In Effect

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Metropolitan Transportation Authority police have instituted a 24-hour ban on alcohol on all Metro-North trains starting at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13, in anticipation of SantaCon.

Police Officers will be on duty at Grand Central Terminal and outlying stations as well as on trains to enforce this restriction. Authorities will confiscate alcohol and issue summonses carrying fines of up to $50, imprisonment of up to 30 days, or both to violators. 

The alcohol ban on Metro-North trains will be lifted on Sunday, Dec. 14 at 9 a.m.
