“Dr. King once had a dream and so do we,” CEO Jim Killoran said. “Our dream is for everyone in the world to go to bed in a simple, decent home every night,” Killoran continued.

In 2015, Habitat of Westchester began the process of building in Chappaqua, and for this 2016 MLK Build-A-Thon, the emphasis will be in Chappaqua at 300 King St. “We are very excited to kick off projects all over Westchester including in Chappaqua and Mount Vernon,” Killoran said.

On Sunday, Jan. 17, Jim Killoran hosted a kickoff, pot-luck dinner at the Habitat of Westchester headquarters at 659 Main Street in New Rochelle.

Many groups have already signed up to volunteer and Habitat of Westchester always welcomes more volunteers for the MLK Build-A-Thon.

“The more the merrier,” Killoran said.
