Gusty Winds Knock Out Power To Nearly 1K In Westchester

Gusty winds have resulted in numerous reports of downed tree limbs throughout the area, with 1,967 customers without power early Sunday evening in Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Dutchess and Orange counties combined.

As of 6 p.m. Sunday,  717 residences lost power in Northern Westchester, 377 were without power in Putnam and 402 in Dutchess, according to NYSEG. Central Hudson reported another 26 minus power in Dutchess. A total of 233 households were without power at 6 p.m. in Central and Southerm Westchester, according to Con Ed.

Across the river, Orange & Rockland Utilities reported 50 customers without power in Rockland and 162 in Orange County at 6 p.m.

A Wind Advisory which went into effect early Sunday morning expired at 6 p.m.

Sunday night will be cold, with a low temperature around 32 degrees, a wind-chill factor between 25 and 30 and a chance of snow showers after 3 a.m.

Monday will be mostly sunny with a high near 45 and wind-chill values between 25 and 35 early in the day.
