Greyston Celebrates Yonkers In Annual Gala

YONKERS, N.Y. -- Greyston will host its Annual Gala at X20 Xavier’s on the Hudson on Wednesday, June 15.

The evening cocktail party will highlight the success of Open Hiring and honor the Yonkers community, core to all Greyston programs. 

Special honorees at this year’s benefit are Sobeida Cruz, founder of Charter School of Educational Excellence and Westchester County Legislator Ken Jenkins, (D - Yonkers).

The event will be a memorable and delicious evening with food prepared by chef Peter Kelly. Yonkers Brewing Co. will be providing the beer and Nahmia et Fils of Yonkers Distillery has created a special Celebrate Yonkers cocktail. 

Yonkers resident Joe D’Lando will provide the music and there will be Greyston Bakery brownies for dessert. Members of the Greyston Community who have made changes in their lives through Open Hiring will share their experiences and guests will have a chance to partake in a silent auction featuring items from the likes of Ben and Jerry’s, Winston and Son Jewelers, Yonkers Brewing Co., Shakespeare in the Park, Sound Associates and more.

For more than 32 years, Greyston has provided jobs, workforce development, community gardens and environmental education, housing and an Early Learning Center to address the underserved needs of Yonkers residents.
