The 121,883-square-foot center is expected to create 50 new jobs, plus relocate about 30 workers from a facility in the Bronx. While officials and residents have typically been worried about increased traffic in the area, the center is likely to generate less traffic that other proposals for the site, which included a domed sports center, lohud.com says.
A development company built the facility for FedEx, and the company has a long-term lease. Both the developer and FedEx turned down a tax incentive package offered by Yonkers officials, lohud.com reports.
