Sprain Brook Parkway In Yonkers Reopens After Fatal Crash

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- The severe thunderstorms that passed through the area Wednesday morning have resulted in several reports of downed trees as well as some power outages.

Approximately 1,000 were left without power immediately following the height of the storm in the pre-dawn hours, according to Con Ed and NYSEG.

A downed tree is blocking the northbound lanes on Route 100 at Seven Bridges Road in New Castle.

Farther south, a downed tree that had been blocking the right lane on southbound Route 9A at Route 100 in Mount Pleasant, causing backups to Route 117, has been cleared.

An accident is blocking the shoulder on northbound I-684 at I-84, with backups to Hardscrabble Road in North Salem.

An accident reported at 7:45 a.m., is blocking the shoulder on the northbound Saw Mill River Parkway in Greenburgh, with backups to I-87.

The traffic lights are not operational at Route 9 and Route 117 in Mount Pleasant.

The northbound lanes of the Sprain Brook Parkway in Yonkers reopened at around 7 a.m. after being closed since around midnight following a fatal crash at Route 100. The crash remains under investigation.
