The Pajama Program provides new pajamas and new books to children in need, many who are waiting and hoping to be adopted. Recipients of the Pajama Program include Andrus Children’s Home and Yonkers Leake and Watts.
The drive ends on Nov. 15 at 12 p.m. when the committee will fill a bus with the donations at Yonkers Chamber Offices on 55 Main Street, Yonkers. Volunteers are welcome to help.
“So many children are without warm bedtime clothing and education so we developed a creative program to provide some of both,” said Founder and Executive Director Genevieve Piturro in a statement.
You may drop off your pajamas and books at the following locations:
• Yonkers Chamber of Commerce • Yonkers City Hall • Yonkers City Court • Yonkers Police & Fire Departments • St. John’s Riverside Hospital
Chamber business members that would like to collect within their own companies are welcomed and urged to do so.
