Construction Crews Demolish Dilapidated Yonkers Home

YONKERS, N.Y. - Contracting crews in Yonkers demolished a dilapidated house over the weekend, forcing the closure of one of the city’s busiest roadways.

On Saturday morning, police closed down a stretch of Warburton Avenue between Wells Avenue and Manor House Square as crews took down a previously unoccupied multi-family home that had become an eyesore in the heart of Yonkers.

Warburton Avenue was shut down in both directions for nearly 12 hours as the work was completed and the scene was cleared. City officials have not announced what they plan to do with the property.
