Case Of Missing Yonkers Student Remains Unsolved

YONKERS, N.Y. -- Stevie Bates of Yonkers was a 19-year-old student at Hunter College when she disappeared in April 2012. Today, the state Department of Public Safety is still working the cold case, hoping someone has information of what happened to Bates.

Bates was last seen at the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan after arriving on a bus. She is described as being 5 feet 6 inches tall, 115 pounds with dyed blonde hair in dreadlocks, and brown eyes. She may still be in the area. 

Anyone who has seen or knows the whereabouts of Bates should contact the Yonkers Police Department at 914-377-7900 or the state Missing Persons Clearinghouse hotline at 800-346-3543. 

Leads can also be emailed to missingpersons@dcjs.ny.gov. The department features a different missing persons case each Monday in an effort to help authorities generate new leads on past cases. Please help spread the word by sharing this post on social media.
